Smoking

It is well documented the ill-effects of tobacco smoking on the body and in the mouth - everyone has seen those graphic images of a rotten mouth on the outside of cigarette boxes! Smoking can have many effects in the mouth:

> Bad breath
> Staining
> Gum disease
> Poor healing of the gums following trauma or dental surgery such as extractions
> Increased risk of developing oral cancer
