Payment
Fees are payable at the end of each appointment by cash, cheque or EFTPOS. We are online with most health funds via the HICAPS system so claims can be processed electronically on the day. We ask for accounts to be settled on the day unless other prior arrangements have been made. Please discuss any financial concerns you have during your appointment with the dentist.

Insurance
Please note rebates from health funds vary depending upon with whom you are insured and according to the items of treatment received on the day.

Medical Rebate
Did you know that payments you make for dental threatment are eligible for the government's 20% Medical Expenses Rebate.
A rebate is availible to any taxpayer whose medical expenses in any financial year exceeed $2000. Please note this only applies on the gap amount you pay for treatment.

The rebate amount is currently 20% of the excess over $2000.  Payments for dental treatment can be added to other general medical expenses (including prescription medications) that the taxpayer may have, increasing their entitlement further.

Example:  You have medical and dental expenses totalling $4000 for the year so you will be entitled to a rebate of $400.

Check with your accountant if this rebate is suitable for you.

Preferred Providers
Some insurers are attempting to influence patients and dentists to participate in their 'preferred provider' schemes. These schemes are designed to provide patients to dentists through an arrangement with the health fund.

The term 'preferred' is misleading as it refers to preference of the insurer based on the cost to the insurer.

We do not to participate in these schemes, as we do not believe in contracted dentistry.

We wish to be able to provide the current high standard of service to our patients without any restrictions to the decision making process with our patients or the proper execution of high quality dental care.

Our aim with all our patients is to 'restore and prevent' for the long term. Lower quality dentistry will not achieve this and may even cause more complex and costly problems later.
